18 films with German involvement at the 64th Edinburgh International Film Festival

18 films with German involvement are being shown in the various programs at the 64th Edinburgh International Film Festival which is taking place from June 16 to 27. Founded in 1947 as a documentary film festival, it is the world’s oldest festival to be held without a break over the years. Nowadays, films of all genres from around the world are shown here.

HENRY OF NAVARRE (HENRI 4) by Jo Baier (DE/FR/ES), THE HUNTER by Rafi Pitts (IR/DE), MY WORDS, MY LIES – MY LOVE (LILA LILA) by Alain Gsponer and WHISKY WITH VODKA (WHISKY MIT WODKA) by Andreas Dresen will be screened in Directors’ Showcase.

The sidebar Rosebud will be presenting THE ROBBER (DER RAEUBER) by Benjamin Heisenberg (AT/DE), GRAVITY (SCHWERKRAFT) by Maximilian Erlenwein, SNOWMAN’S LAND by Tomasz Thomson, SOUL BOY by Hawa Essuman (KE/DE) and UNDERTOW by Javier Fuentes-Leon (PE/CO/FR/DE).

Document will be showing the Finnish-German co-production FREETIME MACHOS by Mika Ronkainen.

The US-German co-production MY SON, MY SON, WHAT HAVE YE DONE? by Werner Herzog will be screened in the section of Gala.

PARADISE LATER by Ascan Brauer (AT/DE/ID) and WOUND FOOTAGE by Thorsten Fleisch can be seen in Black Box.

LEBENSADER by Angela Steffen, SAUNA TANGO by Vera Lalyko and SPIN by Max Hattler (GB/FR/DE) can be seen in the various animation sections.

Shorts is showing COCOON (KOKON) by Till Kleinert and Family Shorts NINEANDAHALFS GOODBYE (NEUNEINHALBS ABSCHIED) by Halina Dyrschka.
